About Emilia

With a background in Biomedical Science, Emilia is a queer and neurodiverse multidisciplinary actor and artist, and mental health specialist with a Distinction in MSc Creative Arts and Mental Health.

Emilia’s acting work has screened internationally, including at Cannes, Sitges, and BFI Flare Festival, as well as on BBC One and BBC America. She has worked directly alongside talent including Peter Capaldi, James Norton, and BAFTA winner Molly Windsor. Emilia also has an ABRSM Grade 5 certification in Classical Singing, and a BADC Standard qualification in Stage Combat. She also has firearms training through ID Fight. As a model she has been published in Brides and Wed magazines, Dark Horse Comics, and in exhibitions at OXO Tower and MCM Comic Con.

Emilia is passionate about developing projects in factual entertainment and dramatic fiction. Her monologue piece “Sleep” won Best One Actress Monologue at Avalonia Festival, and her short horror script “Meat Eater” was a semi-finalist at the Killer Shorts competition. In 2022, she completed the EDEN Digital scheme for LGBTQ+ filmmakers and was subsequently awarded a CuratorSpace bursary, became a BFI Creative Producers Lab alum, and was a member of WIFT Toronto’s Showcase Jury. She is also a published poet.

During her studies at Queen Mary University of London, she co-organised the Mad Hearts: Queering Boundaries conference, was a member of the Air Supply Collective supervised by Lois Weaver, and was shortlisted for Course Rep of the Year. Emilia’s academic research foci were the “mad” feminine, care practices, and suicide prevention, with her dissertation examining Wellbeing Facilitators in the UK’s Film and Television industry.

After living in Canada, Emilia became an Engagement Committee member for WIFT Toronto, a Core Member of the Firecracker Department, a moderator for the screenwriting forum InkCanada, and a Creative Partner at Artists for Mental Health. She served as Vice President of Public Relations for Shropshire Speakers, plus is a qualified Mental Health First Aider, an i-act Mental Health for Film and TV Manager, and an avid cook with over 120 c00kbooks!
