​What I'm Doing Right Now.

(Inspired by Katy Schutte, who was inspired by Derek Sivers.)

Role: Actor

I am still churning through footage from my Motion Capture experience at the University of Worcester (10 characters over 2 days). I am prepping to attend the Lughnassadh session of Katy Schutte’s Mythic Improv Journey which follows the Pagan Wheel of the Year. I have also managed to stand and walk short distances in my Digilegs, out in the open - success!! (And then I fell over - safety pads are needed for future attempts, I think!!). I am also prepping materials so I am ready to record a singing reel in the near-ish future!

Role: Game Developer

Progress has stalled on my first text-based adventure game - I am 29k words in and while I believed the end was in sight, I realised I might need to kill some darlings for the sake of readability and I have been overthinking every single aspect of this endeavour, including its mere existence. Booo. I have slowly also been developing an idea I have had for a second game, which is considerably more complex as it utilises various stat checks and special attacks, and I’ve been working my way through the Ren’Py tutorial to facilitate this project.

Additionally, I have been creating events for Limit Break - a mentorship program aimed at marginalised people looking to get into the games industry, and recently attended Develop :)

Role: Twitch Streamer

I have not done any streaming for the past few weeks on account of life happening, but I have managed to utilise some coding to get my Twitch and Discord to do cool shit.

Role: Artist

I completed my first attempt at making anthotypes recently which was great fun, and now I am trying to psyche myself up for attempting some acrylic paintings. I am challneging myself to post more of my work on social media, even if it is not finished, so I can get used to being seen in a state of non-perfection.

Role: Human Woman

I am heading to Stockholm for two weeks in a few days time for a holiday - jury’s out as to whether I will actually ignore my emails. I am still struggling to convince myself to get back into Parkrun.

Putting my bare feet in the warm grass. Hugging friends. Buying plants. Making bread. Playing with fire. Reading books about Indigenous Wisdom. Experiencing the unexpected.
